Students either do a Thesis or a Focused Scholarly Project. A thesis gives students the opportunity to engage in a formal, rigorous research study...with the help and guidance of a committee.  The alternative to the thesis is the Focused Scholarly Project. In this course, students engage in projects that demonstrate scholarship, while being mentored by faculty.
