The institution has a chief executive officer whose primary responsibility is to the institution and who is not the presiding officer of the board.

 

  
 


Southeastern is in compliance with Core Requirement 2.3.


 
 


As dictated by University of Louisiana System Board Rules (page III-5), the chief executive officer of Southeastern Louisiana University is its President, Dr. Randy Moffett. Selected according to the System's Policies and Procedures Memoranda FS.III.II.A-1, Dr. Moffett's primary responsibility is to the institution. Dr. Moffett answers to the System through the President of the University of Louisiana System, Dr. Sally Clausen.

Dr. Moffett is not the presiding officer of the University of Louisiana System Board. According to Louisiana Revised Statute 17:3205, “No member of the faculty and no officer or employee of a university or college shall be eligible hereafter for appointment to any board, which has authority for his/her appointment”. This statute precludes an individual from being the chief executive officer of an institution and the presiding officer of a Board. The presiding officer over the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors is Mr. Michael Woods, Chairman.
