A sprawling majestic cypress forest thousands of years old was reduced to a wasteland due to the careless actions of man. This film employs the observations of the first European explorers to southeastern Louisiana, vintage depression era film footage, and action sequences to reveal how war, greed, and ignorance combined to produce an ecological catastrophe carrying huge implications for the region in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
