Browser Compatibility Guide


Many problems in Blackboard arise from incompatibility issues with your browser or software on your computer. You should make sure that your web browser is compatible. First, check this browser compatibility chart below supplied by Blackboard as part of their release notes for our current version of Blackboard. It is a matrix of operating systems and the web browsers that are compatible with Blackboard.

  1. Configure your browser

If Blackboard is not in the list of trusted sites, some things may not function correctly. Allow selu.edu

Pop-up blockers. Many documents in Blackboard will attempt to open in a new browser window or a document window. Many popup blockers will prevent this.  You will want to enable popups from selu.edu

Make sure your browser is configured to allow cookies

Almost every part of Blackboard relies on JavaScript for the ability to generate interactive web pages. You must have JavaScript enabled.

Make sure Java is installed on your computer.
