WALLACE NAMED SAM W. WALTON FREE ENTERPRISE FELLOW
HAMMOND -- Dawn Wallace, assistant professor of General Business, has been named
a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow for the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team at
Southeastern Louisiana University.
The Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellowship, created by the Wal-Mart Foundation,
recognizes SIFE faculty advisors who train and motivate more than 10,000 SIFE Team members
nation-wide.
Under the direction of Wallace, SIFE won the title of Regional Champions after
presenting its educational outreach project at the 2001 SIFE Regional Exposition and Career
Opportunity Fair April 2 in Atlanta. They will present their winning project at the 2001 SIFE
USA National Exposition this week in Missouri in hopes of becoming national champions and
traveling to London for the inaugural SIFE World Cup in London .
Founded in 1975, SIFE is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with business and
higher education to provide college students with leadership development, and teamwork and
communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise.
