CITY TOWING TO BEGIN OCTOBER 9 SOUTH OF WEST DAKOTA
HAMMOND Beginning October 9, Hammond police will begin towing vehicles
parked illegally on private property south of West Dakota. Southeastern Louisiana University
Police have been placing flyers on the windshields of students' vehicles for several weeks
warning of the upcoming action.
The fee for retrieving towed vehicles from the city is 125 dollars, plus any applicable
citations, such as blocking driveways or parking in yards.
Students are urged to review the official campus map given with the purchase of a
campus hang tag. City streets south of campus that are off limit to parking are highlighted in
yellow and black.
Students who have not yet purchased a campus hang tag are strongly encouraged to do so
at the University Police Department located on Virginia Avenue at SGA Drive. Vehicles on
campus property will not be towed.
