SLU SUMMER REGISTRATION UNDERWAY JUNE 4-5
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's summer 2001 semester will open
June 6. Meanwhile, students still have time to apply and register for summer classes, university
admissions and registration staff said.
Current students who pre-registered for the summer session can drop and add courses
May 29-June 1 and must pay their fees by 4:30 p.m. on June 1, Records and Registration
Director Paulette Poche said.
New students and those who did not register early will sign up for summer classes June
4-5. Meanwhile, Poche said they can check the university web site -- www.selu.edu -- for their
summer registration appointment times and view available courses.
"If you have already applied, click on the 'LEO' icon on Southeastern's home page, then
'LEONet-Students' link, and log on with your University ID," said Paulette Poche, director of
Records and Registration. "If you have not applied, you can still browse the class offering by
logging in as a guest. We're looking forward to seeing you this summer."
Sam Domiano, director of Admissions and Financial Aid, said new, returning or transfer
students will find admission applications online on Southeastern's "Prospective Students" page.
"Students can also visit our office in Room 113, North Campus Building B," he said.
"We'll be happy to guide them through the admissions and financial aid application procedures."
Domiano said summer school students will be able to register early for fall semester
classes on June 12. Southeastern students can apply and register from any computer with Internet
access, including computers in campus computer labs and at the university's St. Tammany
Center, located at the St. Tammany Parish Government Complex on Koop Drive off Hwy. 59
north of Abita Springs, and the Baton Rouge Campus, 4849 Essen Lane.
An Admissions and Financial Aid staff member is available at the off-campus locations
for personal assistance from 1-4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in Baton Rouge and 1-7 p.m. on
Thursdays at the St. Tammany Center.
Domiano said entering freshmen will register for summer classes during Freshman
Orientation, June 4-5. The university will host five Freshmen Orientation sessions this summer
for students who will begin their college studies this fall.
