SLU HOSTS ANNUAL SOCIAL STUDIES FAIR
     HAMMOND -- Winners of the annual Region VIII Social Studies Fair, hosted March 21
by Southeastern Louisiana University, have been announced.
     Grand prize winners for individual and group projects were chosen in three divisions,
Division I (grades 4-6), Division II (grades 7-8), and Division III (grades 9-12). They will
advance to the state Social Studies Fair at Louisiana State University.
                            DIVISION I
     INDIVIDUAL: Grand Prize: Olivia Reed, C.J. Schoen Middle School (Covington);
Runner-up: Brittany Dehart, Mandeville Middle School.
     GROUP: Grand Prize: Marli Doll and Nicole Burillo, St. Peter's School (Covington);
Runner-up: Travis Husser, Justin April, William Langston, and Michael Boudreaux, Loranger
Middle School.
                          DIVISION II
     INDIVIDUAL   Andrea Marie Ard, Live Oak Middle School (Watson); Runner-up:
Rebecca Rogillio, Southside Jr. High (Denham Springs).
     GROUP   Grand Prize: Emily Athey and Dawnielle Rollette, Trafton Academy
(Hammond); Runner-up: Jessie Kidd and Sara Talamo, Trafton Academy (Hammond).
                          DIVISION III
          INDIVIDUAL   Grand Prize: Ethan Forrest, Hammond High School; Runner-up: Hollie
Marlana Howard, Sumner High School.
     GROUP   Grand Prize: Will Giannobile, Troy Mutter, the St. Paul School (Covington);
Runner-up: Eric Hebert, Michael Menszer, the St. Paul School.
