SOUTHEASTERN LAUNCHES NEW SPEAKERS BUREAU
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University has created a new speakers bureau to
provide faculty and staff experts for community organizations.
Over 100 university faculty and staff members are available to speak to civic organizations
in southeastern Louisiana. Topics range from personal financial planning and business practices
to creative writing.
Examples from hundreds of topics include burnout and stress in the work place, crime, the
environment, fashion merchandising, healthcare, history, industrial technology, the Internet,
literature, multiculturalism, people skills, school-to-work programs, music and opera, sports,
small business development, the visual arts, teen pregnancy, theater, writing, travel, ecology of
lakes Pontchartrain and Maurepas, Louisiana and national history, Governor Earl Long, Kennedy
Assassination, and Civil War.
Southeastern also has the Small Business Development Center to help new and existing
businesses in a number of ways.
Speakers are available at no charge to community groups, except for travel expenses,
special seminars or workshops, and musical performances.
