FANFARE DINNER THEATRE OFFERS SONDHEIM MAGIC
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Opera-Music Theatre program will
celebrate the urbane and sophisticated music of composer Stephen Sondheim in "Side by Side by
Sondheim," a cabaret-style review crammed with show-stopping tunes from Broadway hits such
as "Gypsy," "Company," and "Into the Woods."
The musical, which will run Oct. 2-5 at the Pottle Music Building Auditorium, is a
highlight of the first week of Fanfare, Southeastern's October celebration of the arts and
humanities. Curtain is 7:30 p.m.
Audiences can enjoy a 6 p.m. pre-performance cash bar and dinner at SLU's Twelve Oaks
dining hall or attend the performance only. Tickets for dinner and performance are $22, while
performance-only tickets are $10 general admission, $8 senior citizens and SLU faculty and staff.
Southeastern students are admitted free to the performance only with their university I.D. Tickets
are available at the Fanfare box office at Gate 1 of the SLU University Center, 549-2323.
"Side by Side by Sondheim" will star graduate students Sandy Kelly of Dallas, Texas,
and Diane Pulte of Gainesville, Texas; senior George Montalbano Jr. of Independence; junior
Tyler Smith of Baton Rouge; sophomore Rita Dottor of Saulte St. Marie, Canada, and John
Dominick III of Hammond. Graduate student Charles Effler of Hammond and Raisa Voldman of
