SOCIAL STUDIES CONTESTANT   Blake Jones, a fifth grade student from Frost Elementary
in Livingston, explains his project about the World Trade Center twin towers, "How the First
People Survived," to Southeastern Louisiana University sociology instructor Van Burns, one of
the judges at the Region VII Social Studies Fair, held at Southeastern on March 19. Students
from area middle, junior and high schools submitted 394 projects to the annual fair. First and
second place winners advance to the state fair at Louisiana State University on April 22.
