SHERMAN SCHOLARSHIP -- Members of the Sherman family recently presented the
William F. Sherman, M.D., Memorial Scholarship to Jeanene Brignac, a biology major from
Clinton, who will graduate from Southeastern in May and has been accepted to attend LSU
Medical School in Shreveport. The Sherman family endowed the scholarship in memory of the
late Dr. William Sherman of Ponchatoula, a1971 Southeastern graduate, who was killed in an
automobile accident in1976. It supports students seeking careers in medicine. From left,  are
Southeastern biological sciences professor Dr. Danny Acosta; Brignac; Dr. Sherman's niece,
Karli Sherman of Hammond; and his daughter, Rebecca Sherman, who will graduate in May
from LSU Medical School.
