SOUTHEASTERN PRESENTS 1999-2000 THEATER SEASON
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Theatre has announced its 1999-
2000 season, four productions featuring satire, comedy, and contemporary and dramatic
masterpieces at Vonnie Borden Theatre in D Vickers Hall.
Season tickets are available and individual tickets will go on sale at the Southeastern box
office, located in the lobby of D Vickers Hall, one week before each production. Box office
hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and one hour before the 7:30 p.m. curtain time. Tickets are $5 for
general admission and $3 for senior citizens, Southeastern faculty, staff and non-SLU students.
Southeastern students are admitted free with their university I.D.
     The 1999-2000 season includes:
Moliere's "Tartuffe," Oct. 12-16: The translation by Christopher Hampton of
the great French playwright's masterful and bawdy satirical comedy of manners,
targets hypocrisy, lust and betrayal. The production, directed by Kay M. Files, is
part of Southeastern's Fanfare arts festival and is a salute to Louisiana's
          celebration of FrancoFete.
Tom Griffin's "The Boys Next Door," Nov. 16-20: This acclaimed
contemporary play is set in a group home for four mentally challenged and
emotionally ill men under the supervision of a sincere but increasingly burned out
social worker. The comedy-drama will be directed by guest director Selisa Hue.
                    Henrik Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler," Feb. 29-March 4, 2000: Ibsen's masterpiece
tells the classic story of a strong-willed woman at the turn of the century.
Southeastern's production, directed by Kay Files, will be part of Southeastern
Theatre's celebration of Women's History month and will star experienced guest
actors Kim Marshall, a recent Southeastern graduate, and Larry Gray, an award-
          winning playwright and Southeastern artist-in-residence.
