SLU PRESIDENT TO REPORT TO SCHOOL BOARDS ON
DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University President Sally Clausen is on the
agenda of three parish school boards this month to report the results of a pilot program designed
to reduce the need for developmental education in college.
Clausen will address to the Tangipahoa Parish School Board at 6:30 p.m., August 5, 313
E. Oak St., Amite; the Livingston Parish School Board at 7 p.m., August 7, 13909 Florida Blvd,
Livingston; and the St. Tammany Parish School Board at 7 p.m., August 14, Salmen High
School, 4040 Berkley St., Slidell.
Through cooperative agreements between the university and parish school boards, eight
area high schools participated in the program. The schools offer special mathematics and English
classes that give students the opportunity to meet college developmental requirements before
entering Southeastern.
Participating schools are Amite High School (Tangipahoa Parish); Fountainbleau,
Mandeville, Northshore, Pearl River, Salmen and Slidell High Schools (St. Tammany Parish),
and Walker High School (Livingston Parish).
