SMALL BUSINESS TAX SEMINAR MARCH 1 IN SLIDELL
HAMMOND -- Small business or new business owners, bookkeepers or anyone who has
questions about taxes for a small business should attend the Small Business Tax Seminar, which
will present seminars in Slidell, Hammond and Denham Springs by Southeastern Louisiana
University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Greater Area Slidell Chamber of
Commerce and Durnin & James CPAs.
The Slidell seminar will be held Wednesday March 1, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Ramada
Inn,798 East I-1 Service Road at Gause Blvd. The Hammond seminar will take place Thursday
March 2 in the SLU University Center, room 122, 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m.. The seminar in Denham
Springs will also be held Thursday March 2, 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at Hibernia National Bank, 116
North Range Road. Cost for each seminar is $10 per person.
Byron Garrety, CPA with Durnin & James, will be the presenter. The seminar will cover
state taxes and federal taxes including tax advantage and disadvantages of different forms of
business organizations, record keeping, withholding taxes for employees, filing requirements,
quarterly tax returns and more.
Pre-registration is recommended as seating and workbooks are limited. To register for
either seminar call the Southeastern SBDC at 549-3831.
