SANDERSON FARMS PLEDGES $25,000 TO SLU BUSINESS BUILDING
HAMMOND -- Sanderson Farms has pledged $25,000 over a five year period to sponsor
a classroom in Southeastern Louisiana University's College of Business Building.
The company was the first to sponsor a classroom in the newly-renovated building, which
once housed Southeastern's Sims Memorial Library. Classrooms also have been sponsored by
Deposit Guaranty Bank, First Guaranty Bank and Eunice Lambert Cathy and Norma Lambert.
Conference rooms have been sponsored in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Robinson and the R.K.
Hoddinott Family.
The Sanderson Farms classroom is equiped with state-of-the-art technology and is the site
of undergraduate and graduate business policies courses. Students use the classroom's computer
projection equipment to make case presentations.
"This is a very good way to support the future of both our business and the country," said
Sanderson Farms general manager Brian Williams. "The students of today are the business
leaders of tomorrow."
Sanderson Farms employees Neil Morgan and Phil Buehler were instrumental in
Sanderson Farm's donation, said Joseph Miller, vice president for university advancement. He
also cited the assistance of Phil Livingston, who is a member of both Sanderson Farms and the
Southeastern Development Foundation boards of directors.
