SOUTHEASTERN SENIOR PRESENTS DANCE CONCERT APRIL 9
     HAMMOND   Southeastern Louisiana University dance student Debbie Rodriguez will
present a free concert, "The Way Away," Tuesday, April 9 at 2 p.m. in Pottle Music Building
Auditorium.
     Rodriguez, a Harvey native, is a graduating senior majoring in kinesiology with a
concentration in dance. As a student at Southeastern, she has been an active member and
choreographer of Danceworks and Legworks, and also a dancer for Izzy Moving Dance
Company. Rodriguez performed at the Bridge Center for Dance in New York with Izzy Moving
Dance Company last April, and at the American College Dance Festival in 1999 and 2000.
     The concert will open with "Pelvically Motivated," featuring dancers Kamie Clark and
Anastasia Wesley of Amite, Shaylyn Ducoing of Lafitte, Elizabeth Hughes and Sarah Lindsey of
Kentwood, Jannean McKinney of Addis, Crystal Pichon and Kristi Babin of Slidell, and Angela
Martin of Gretna.
     It will be followed by "Momentary Thought," featuring the music of Fat Boy Slim, with
Babin, Ducoing, McKinney, Pichon, and Katie Walker of Pearl River, and "Thanks" featuring
the music of Bon Jovi.
     Closing out the performance will be "Life Lessons" with music by Uncle Kracker; "My
Way Away" with music by Madonna, and "Etiquette," featuring the entire cast. Performers for
"Life Lessons" are Babin, Ducoing, Lindsey, Martin, Pichon, Rodriguez, Walker and Wesley.
Rodriguez will be the sole dancer in "My Way Away," a therapeutic dance addressing the
everyday stresses of life.
