SLU SBDC SPONSORS SEMINARS 
     HAMMOND --  Southeastern Louisiana University's Small Business Development and
the Small Business Administration are hosting two seminars for business that want to work with
the government.
     Both seminars will be held July 16 in the SLU University Center. Cost is $10 for each or
$15 for both.
     "Utilizing SBA Pro-Net," scheduled from 9-11:30 a.m. in Room 136, will introduce the
newest electronic gateway of procurement information for and about small business. Pro-Net
replaces Procurement Automated Source System (PASS) and has been designed as a "virtual"
one-stop procurement shop open to government contracts and small businesses seeking federal,
state and private contracts. 
     The "SBA 8(a) Program, which will be held from 1-3 p.m. in Room 135, is a business
development program that provides participants access to a variety of business development
services including the opportunity receive federal contracts on a sole-source or limited
competition basis. The seminar will provide small businesses with the criteria necessary to
become 8(a) certified and an outline of the process to follow for certification.
