SLU'S PHI KAPPA PHI INITIATES 26 NEW MEMBERS
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's chapter of the Honor Society of Phi
Kappa Phi inducted 36 new student members in a traditional ceremony Nov. 11 in the Student
Union Ballroom.
To be considered for membership in the national honor society, a student must be in the
top ten percent of the senior or graduate class and hold a minimum 3.4 grade point average.
Also at the induction, Donnie Booth, dean of the School of Nursing, was sworn in as Phi
Kappa Phi president. Officers for 1999-2000 are Joan Faust, English, president elect; Victoria
Mocsary, History and Political Science, secretary; Barbara Forrest, History and Political Science,
treasurer, and Lynn Wellman, Communication and Theatre, Public Relations Officer.
