SOUTHEASTERN HOSTS OPEN HOUSE NOVEMBER 22 & 23
     HAMMOND -- High school students and their parents are invited to attend Southeastern
Louisiana University's Open House November 22 and23 at the University Center.
     The annual event will feature presentations, an information fair, campus tours and
luncheon. Organizers expect over 300 students each day. 
     Check in begins at 8 a.m. in Room 135 of the Southeastern University Center on
University Ave. 
     After a 9 a.m. welcome, a series of presentations will begin at 9:30 a.m. with information
on Student Organizations, Student Leadership, Residential Life, Campus Dining, and Financial
Aid, including Louisiana's TOPS scholarship program. Presentations are scheduled for the
University Center arena. 
     Students can also learn about Southeastern's quality admissions standards, which will be
implemented in fall 2000 and can apply for admission on site. The event will also feature door
prizes and give-aways, and an opportunity for students to visit academic departments, residence
hall and have one-on-one consultations about financial aid, testing, and other opportunities. 
     Students are encouraged to pre-register for the Open House by calling Enrollment
Services at 1-800-222-SELU or 504-549-5999, or by email at openhouse@selu.edu.  Students
