SLU SLATES NOTARY PUBLIC REVIEW CLASS
HAMMOND -- A non-credit course analyzing the powers, duties and responsibilities of
the Louisiana Notary Public will be offered Sept. 7- Oct. 12 at Southeastern Louisiana
University.
The class, sponsored by Southeastern's Continuing Education department, costs $280 and
will be held on Tuesdays from 6-8 p.m. in Room 79 of the Garrett College of Business Building.
Instructor Douglas T. Curet, a Hammond attorney, will help prepare notarial candidates
for the examination given by the Parish Notarial Commission. It will also benefit those in
financial institutions, real estate, businesses and para-legals.
Subjects discussed in the class will range from mortgages, conveyances, leases, contracts,
promissory notes and legal descriptions, to successions, wills and trusts and Louisiana
community property regime.
