SOUTHEASTERN'S  NON CREDIT COURSES OFFERED "ONLINE"
     HAMMOND -- Have you always wanted to take that fun or useful leisure learning
course, but couldn't find the time? Now, you can take the course at your convenience from the
comfort of your home computer through Southeastern Louisiana University's Continuing
Education department.
     Southeastern Louisiana University is offering non-credit courses online for the first time. 
Online courses for the spring 2000 semester include beginning, intermediate and advanced
Microsoft Excel, and Beginning PowerPoint Presentation. 
     "Working adults would like to take a course to improve themselves, but can't always fit it
into their schedules," said Veda Abene, executive assistant in Continuing Education.
"Southeastern's online courses let them do the course work when it's convenient for them." 
     The courses are 100 percent online and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  All
that's required is a computer with Microsoft Excel 97 or 2000 installed. 
     In addition to the online courses other non-credit courses offered include Shiatsu, Padi
Scuba Diving, Water Aerobics, Basic Money Management, African-American History: Through
Hollywood's Eyes, guitar instruction, basic computer keyboarding, Windows 95, Microsoft
Word 97 and Excel 97.
