SOUTHEASTERN YOUNG MUSICIANS CAMP OFFERED JULY 9-20  
     HAMMOND -- Registration is now underway for Southeastern Louisiana University's
annual Young Musicians' Camp to be held July 9-20.
     Young musicians completing grades four through ten, but not eleventh, are invited to
attend the camp to be offered from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Age and
experience requirements for string and piano players are more flexible.
     Activities, instructed by Southeastern music professors, students and area music teachers,
include programs such as band, small ensembles, evening recitals, choral singing, music theory
and private lessons.  In addition, recreational swimming will be available at the university pool. 
Morning programs from 8 a.m. to noon, which include private and group instruction, music
theory and choral singing are available to young string and piano players only.  
     Deadline for registration without a late fee is June 22. A non-refundable deposit is
required. Camp costs are $250 per student and includes tuition, recreation activities, two meals
per day (lunch and dinner), liability insurance and campus health services.  Morning programs,
without meals, are $100 per student.  Families enrolling more than one child in all-day sessions
will receive a $50 discount per student.
