AIMEE JENKINS CHOSEN MISS SOUTHEASTERN
     HAMMOND --  Aimee Denise Jenkins,  a Southeastern Louisiana University senior 
from Ponchatoula, has been chosen "Miss Southeastern 1998.
     Jenkins, the daughter of Phillip and Bonnie Jenkins, won the talent competition and was
also judged the best in the evening gown and interview categories, at the annual pageant, held
March 5 at SLU's Pottle Music Building Auditorium. The 21-year-old organizational
communication  major performed the country song "Had a Dream," accompanying herself on the
piano. 
     First runner-up was Andrea Rae Williams of Walker, a communication major and the
daughter of Randy and Brenda Williams. Stacie Lynne Reed of Baton Rouge, a freshman music
performance major and the daughter of Stephen and Sheila Reed, took second runner up honors
as well as the "Miss Congeniality" title. Susan Valentine, a senior kinesiology-health promotions
major from Zachary shared top honors in the swimsuit category with Jenkins.
     The SLU pageant is a preliminary of the Miss America pageant and Miss Louisiana
pageants.
