JOY EVETTE YOUNGER CHOSEN MISS SOUTHEASTERN
HAMMOND -- Joy Evette Younger, a Southeastern Louisiana University junior from
Loranger, has been chosen "Miss Southeastern 1997."
Younger, the daughter of Wesley and Eva Younger, won the talent competition, evening
gown and swimwear categories, at the annual pageant, held March 20 at SLU's Vonnie Borden
Theatre. The 20-year-old kinesiology major is a member of Chi Alpha Christina Fellowship. For
her pageant talent presentation, she performed a lyrical dance to the song "More."
First runner-up was Andrea Rae Williams of Walker, a communication major and the
daughter of Randy and Brenda Williams. Stacey Marie Plaisance of Lafitte, a senior liberal arts-
journalism major, won the "Miss Congeniality" title. She is the daughter of Harold and Linda
Plaisance. Williams and Plaisance tied for first place in the interview category.
