CAST ANNOUNCED FOR SLU'S "PRELUDE TO A KISS" JULY 23-26
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University Theatre will present the comedy,
"Prelude to a Kiss" by Craig Lucas, July 23-26, 7:30 pm in the Vonnie Borden Theatre. 
     The cast includes senior acting students Jason Buuck of Slidell as Peter, Christina
DeRosier of Husser as Rita and local actor, playwright and director, Larry Gray as the "old man."
     Other cast members include SLU students Greg Carpenter, Echo Evans-Mohler and Beau
Allulli all of Hammond, Cherie Maurer of Independence, John Deshotel of Baton Rouge, Gary
Mendoza of Slidell, Carli Francois of LaPlace and Miranda McDaniel of Metairie.
Communication/Theatre graduate student Marisa Williams of Hammond will act as Stage
Manager and Assistant Director.
     Director Kay Files says "Prelude to a Kiss" is a romantic contemporary love story about
two soon-to-be married young people, Peter and Rita.  "Complications ensue when Rita kisses a
"frog" on her wedding day and through some unknown magic, switches souls with a terminally
ill old man. "Prelude to a Kiss" asks questions about the nature of enduring love and the
commitment to love forever.  Some critics have even called it a metaphor for love in the time of
AIDS.  It also asks us to consider: how well do we really know those we love the most?" said
Files.  
     SLU Theatre faculty member Rebecca Boyles is designing the costumes and Steve
Schepker is designer/technical director. 
     The SLU box office will take telephone reservations for tickets beginning Monday July
16. Call 549-3546 and leave name, number of tickets and the night you wish to attend.  Tickets
are $5 general admission and $3 senior citizens, SLU faculty and staff and free for all SLU
students with a valid ID. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning at 5:00 pm.
