KAPPA DELTA PI INITIATES NEW MEMBERS
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Zeta Kappa Chapter of the
international honor society Kappa Delta Pi initiated 49 new undergraduate and graduate members
at an initiation ceremony March 24 at the Cate Teacher Education Center Kiva.
     Kappa Delta Pi members must by education majors, maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point
average, and have completed a minimum of 60 course hours. The honor society has among its
membership the top 10 percent of college students in teacher education programs, university
faculty, classroom teachers, and school administrators in the United States, England, Canada, and
Australia. 
     Rebecca Bradburn of Pearl River was inducted as the chapter's president. Other officers
among the initiates are Kelly Michelle Murray, New Orleans, vice president for membership;
Amanda Leigh Walker, Slidell, treasurer; Sherry Beale, Slidell, vice president for programs;
Fairba R. Cade, Osyka, Miss., publicity editor; Leslie Cleland Hano, Covington, historian;
Stephanie Jandura, Gonzales, graduate liaison; Kim Kinchen, Albany, secretary.
     Undergraduate initiates are Jerrilyn D. Arellano, Madisonville; Jennifer Averette and
Amanda Lea Wagner, Baton Rouge; Karen Barcia, Albany; Joanne Beynon and Juanita G. Lee,
Hammond; Sue M. Burch, Mt. Hermon; Tammy Tucker Gautier, Ponchatoula; Jolie Alison
Gerald, Franklinton; Cynthia Huggins, Abita Springs; Laurie Jenkins-Hidalgo, Sun; Melissa
