"JUNIOR JUMPSTART" DETAILS SOUTHEASTERN'S SUPERIOR HIGH SCHOOL
JUNIOR/SENIOR PROGRAM
HAMMOND -- High school seniors can jump start their college careers through
Southeastern Louisiana University's "Superior High School Junior/Senior Program."
The program allows qualified high school students who have completed their junior year
to enroll in up to two Southeastern courses per semester if they meet the courses' prerequisites,
have permission from their high school principal, and there is space available in the course they
want to take.
To learn about the program and how it works, juniors and seniors and their parents are
invited to "Junior Jumpstart," an informational program scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 1,
at the War Memorial Student Union. The event will also provide information on Southeastern's
academic programs, scholarship and financial aid opportunities and admission procedures.
The university will offer a scholarship waiver for Superior High School Junior/Senior
Program participants who have earned either a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0
and a composite ACT score of 19 or have earned a composite score of 25 on the ACT.
To register for Junior Jumpstart, call Southeastern Admissions and Financial Aid at 985-
549-5637 or 1-800-222-SELU (7358) or send email to mdecker@selu.edu. May 30 is the
response deadline.
