JUMPSTART CELEBRATES PROGRAM KICKOFF    The Jumpstart Program at
Southeastern Louisiana University hosted a reception at Roomie's campus coffeeshop on
November 5 for the 37 Southeastern students who form the program's corps members and team
leaders. The students recently began working one-on-one with children at Southeastern and
Hammond Head Start. The program targets school readiness for Head Start pre-schoolers. From
left, Jumpstart corps member Leah Sam of Baker, a sophomore social work major, and team
leader Vickie Smith of Prairieville, a senior family and consumer science major, talk during the
reception with Jumpstart coordinator Vaughn Blossman-Hand and College of Education and
