ENDOWMENT, SCHOLARSHIP HONOR JOY JACKSON -- The Southeastern Louisiana
University has established a memorial scholarship for the late Dr. Joy Jackson, professor of
history and director of the university's Center for Regional Studies and Archives. The scholarship
was established with proceeds from an $18,000 unrestricted annuity left to the Foundation by Dr.
Jackson, who died June 6. Meeting recently to discuss the annuity and scholarship were, from left,
H.G. "Mac" McAdoo and Dorothy McAdoo, who is Dr. Jackson's first cousin; Southeastern
President Sally Clausen; Gary Sandifer, the New York Life representative who arranged the
annuity, and Charlotte Hill, the Foundation's director of development. Mr. and Mrs. McAdoo are
from Carriere, Miss.
