SLU PRESENTS "INNER-ACTION" MARCH 28
      HAMMOND   The Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Music and
Dramatic Arts will present six dance numbers choreographed and performed by Southeastern
dance students in "Inner-ACTION" on March 28 at Pottle Music Building Auditorium.
      Choreographers for the 7:30 p.m. performance are Alison Maraman and Michele Cudd,
Hammond; Donya Chavanel, Laplace; Jennifer "J.B." Buck, Harvey; and Heather Breland, Abita
Springs.
      The event will begin with Cudd's "Chocolate," which has been selected for performance
at the GALA 2002 at the American College Dance Festival at the University of Texas at Austin.
The piece will feature Cudd, Breland, Buck, Maraman, Jessica Lee of  Kentwood and Tracy
Nobles of Hammond.
       Maraman will then take the stage for a solo performance of her  "A Dose of Optimism."
Next will be an untitled movement structure by Breland, featuring Donya Chavanel of Laplace,
and Russell LeBlanc and Todd Ordes, both of Mandeville.
      The second half of the concert will begin with "Again & Again," choreographed by Buck
with music composed and performed by Conor McGibboney of Hammond. Dancers are Buck,
Chavanel, Nichole Brown of Hammond, and Katherine Oliveri of Chalmette. It will be followed
by  "Starting at 3" by Chauvanel, featuring Chauvanel, Breland and LeBlanc.
      Closing out "Inner-ACTION" is "Unconscious Control" by Breland, who recently was
selected to receive a grant for the Ron McNair Graduate Program, which assists low-income and
first generation students with post-graduate studies. Featured in the piece along with Breland are
Caree' Angelle-Hawkins of Covington, and Austin Branch of New Orleans. 
      Production coordinator for "Inner-ACTION" is Martie Fellom, Southeastern dance
professor. Kristin Brooke Johnson of Oakdale serves as stage manager and Jessica Naquin of
Houma is the sound technician. Backstage technical staff includes Buck, Breland, Ankaya Cola
of St. Rose, and Dana Forrest of Baton Rouge.
