SOUTHEASTERN SBDC CO-SPONSORS SEMINAR ON HIRING
HAMMOND -- The Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development
Center and the Northshore Human Resource Region Association will sponsor a seminar on "How
to Hire 'The Right People'" in Covington on Wednesday, May 17, at the Holiday Inn, 501 N.
Hwy. 190, in Covington.
The seminar is designed for small business owners, supervisors, managers, human
resource professionals, recruiters and anyone involved in hiring employees. Participants will
learn alternative recruitment sources, screening strategies to avoid problem employees, and
interviewing and selection techniques. An expert panel will give tips on attracting, selecting and
hiring quality employees.
Featured presenters include Glenn Villalobos of Management Resource Group; Helen
Juneau, a certified research specialist with Discovery Information Resources; Jackie Hall of
Pathways Consulting, and Dan Paulson, manager of Distributor Sales, Hirecheck, a provider of
background information to employers, attorneys and others.
The cost of the seminar is $45 for Northshore Human Resource Region Association
members. For non-members, fees are $50 for those pre-registered and $55 for walk-ins. If two or
more people from the same organization attend, the cost is $45 each. The fee includes coffee and
continental breakfast.
