SLU's GAMMA BETA PHI SELECTS 68 NEW MEMBERS
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's chapter of Gamma Beta Phi, an
academic honor society, has selected 68 students for membership. 
     Gamma Beta Phi, which has more than 400 members at Southeastern, offers membership
to the top 15 percent of each class. Members must maintain good academic standing and
participate in a variety of civic or service projects.
     Gamma Beta Phi, which annually conducts service projects such as blood drives and
holiday food collection, has been named Southeastern's most outstanding campus organization for
the past five years.
     New members from the local area are:
