CAST ANNOUNCED FOR SLU FANFARE'S "FORUM"
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Opera/Music Theatre Program will
bring the hilarious illogicalities of Latin comedy and the zany nonsense of vaudeville to the
university's Fanfare stage Sept. 30-Oct 3 in the musical classic "A Funny Thing Happened on the
Way to the Forum."
Curtain time in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium is 7:30 p.m. Reserved seat tickets
are $10 general admission, and $5 senior citizens, SLU faculty and staff and non-SLU students.
Southeastern students are admitted free with their university I.D.
Tickets will be available beginning Sept. 14 at the Fanfare box office, 504-549-2323,
located at Gate 1 of the SLU University Center on University Ave. Box office hours are 9:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays.
Directed by Larry Gray and produced by Scharmal Schrock, "A Funny Thing Happened
on the Way to the Forum" will star Keith James of Baton Rouge as Pseudolus, the roguish slave
longing to be free. David Mitchell of Covington is his young master Hero, who promises
Pseudolus freedom if he can obtain for him the beautiful Philia, played by Jennifer Odom of
Moselle, Miss.
Deliciously unsavory characters, a befuddled father with a shrewish wife, neighbors,
strangers and the Roman army are all drawn into the mounting confusion as the Stephen
Sondheim, Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart side-splitting comedy unwinds.
Cast members are George Montalbano Jr. of Hammond, Senex; Heidi Cohenour of
Dallas, Texas, Domina; James Roberts of San Diego, Calif., Hysterium; Julius Dietze of
Hammond, Erronius; David Louviere of Baton Rouge, Miles Gloriosus; and Matt Ragas of
LaPlace, Lycus.
