FAMILY LIFE CONFERENCE SCHEDULED APRIL 16
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University, the Tangipahoa Alcohol and Drug
Abuse Council (TADAC), and Louisiana Children's Trust Fund will sponsor "Building a
Learning Community: A Family Life Conference" on April 16.
The conference, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University Center, offers a
variety of workshop sessions designed to empower families, professionals and students through
education, information exchange, and resources.
Workshop sessions include "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens," "The Taming of
the Temper," "Talking so Kids will Listen," "Building Healthy Families," "Shape up Our Kids,"
"Parents Rights and Responsibilities in Special Education," "Save Money-Pay Bills on Time,"
"Literacy with Little Ones: Where to Begin," "Letting Go of Stress: Tips for Daily Living,"
"Energize Yourself Inside and Out," "Service Learning 101," "Inhalant Abuse," "True Colors for
Families," "Folic Acid for Healthy Babies," "Effective Black Parenting," "They're Driving Me
Crazy-Parenting Difficult Teens," "Family Relationships" and "Fostering Self-esteem in
Children."
The fee for the conference is $25. Fees are non-refundable, but are transferable.
