SLU LAB SCHOOL HOSTS SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM IN JULY
     HAMMOND, LA -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Laboratory School will host a
Summer Enrichment Program for elementary and middle school students for two weeks this
summer. 
     The program, scheduled for  July 13-24, Monday- Friday, 8:30 am - noon at the SLU Lab
School, is for students in grades 1-8 who have been identified as gifted/talented or have received
all A's and B's on their report cards for the school year. Cost for the program is $75 per student.
     Students who enroll in the Summer Enrichment Program will complete a questionnaire
that will identify their areas of interest. Based upon those responses, special activities will be
planned that will address student interests. All activities will stimulate creative and critical
thinking and be developed by teachers to make "summer learning" stimulating and enjoyable. A
maximum of 12 students will be assigned to each teacher. 
          Applications forms must be received by Monday June 15. Applications are
available at the SLU Laboratory School on the Southeastern campus, 549-2185.
