SLU MUSIC DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES 1999 "ENCORE!" SERIES
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University music department's spring concert
series, "Encore!," will feature more than 20 concert and recitals by Southeastern faculty,
students, alumni and guest artists. 
     "Encore! 99" includes guest recitals by the acclaimed vocal sextet, the Concord
Ensemble; the cello-piano-violin ensemble, the Merling Trio; the Illinois Trio; saxophonist
Jonathan Noffsinger, and Southeastern alumnus and pianist Kerry Baham. The Southeastern
Opera-Music Theatre Program also will present a four-day run of the Broadway hit musical,
"The
Secret Garden."
     Unless otherwise indicated, admission is free. The 1999 "Encore!" schedule includes

       January 26: Faculty Recital, "Classical and Jazz Connections III," Willis Delony,
piano,7:30 p.m., Pottle Music Building Auditorium. 
In February
       February 1: Concord Ensemble, 7:30 p.m., Pottle Music Building Auditorium (Co-
sponsored by Arts and Lectures and the College of Arts and Sciences). Tickets, $5 general
admission, Southeastern students free with I.D. Tickets available only at door.
       February 2: Illinois Trio, 7:30 p.m., Pottle Music Building Auditorium (Co-sponsored
by Arts and Lectures and the College of Arts and Sciences).
       February 4: Alumni recital, Kerry Baham, piano,7:30 p.m., Pottle Music Building
