SOUTHEASTERN S CAREER 2000 SET FOR SEPT. 22
     HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University will host the annual Career 2000
employment festival on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in the University Center.  The employer display area
will
be open from 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 1:15-3:30 p.m.  Southeastern students and alumni are
invited
to attend.
      The employment festival s growth and popularity has prompted a move this year from the
Student Union Ballroom to the University Center.  Approximately 100 employers, including
many
state, federal and local agencies, are expected to participate in Career 2000 to provide students
and
graduates with information on careers and employment possibilities.   
     Seniors and graduates actively seeking employment are encouraged to attend and advised to
dress in business attire and have several resumes to distribute.
     Participating employers include American Express Financial Advisors, Hancock Bank,
Sherwin Williams, Neill Corporation, First Investors Corporation, Consolidated Electrical
Distributors, Inc., Office Depot, Norwest Financial, Inc., Ascent Consulting Group, Avondale
Industries, Inc., City of Baton Rouge Police Department, City/Parish Government of East Baton,
Dallas Public Schools, Eckerds, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Faulk & Winkler,  Lundy Enterprise,
North
Oaks Health System, Olsten Staffing Services, Picadilly Cafeterias, Primerica Financial Services,
Sanderson Farms,  Sicard Motors, State Farm Insurance, Sunshine Pages, Tech 2000 Services
and
Staffing, Time Trend Computers, United Companies, the University of North Texas, Walgreens,
and
Wal-Mart. 
     Representatives from the La. departments of Civil Service, Corrections,  Environmental
Quality and Information Systems are also expected to attend along with representatives from the
federal departments of Customs, Health and Human Services, Marshal's Office, Probation
Service and
the Army, Marines and Navy.
