SECOND SLU EMBA CLASS TO BEGIN JAN. 8
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University is still accepting applications for its
second Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) class, which will begin on Jan. 7,
2000.
Brad O'Hara, director of the College of Business's Master of Business Administration
program, said prospective students do not have to have taken the Graduate Management
Admission Test (GMAT) before enrolling, but will have to take the test by mid-May 2000.
Southeastern kicked off its first Executive Master of Business Administration class last
January. The 17-month Master of Business Administration program is tailored for working
professionals. EMBA students take 11 graduate courses over 17 months, attending class primarily
on Saturdays. Each semester begins with a three-day (Thursday-Saturday) "quick start" session to
help professionals tune up their classroom skills. Classes are taught by Southeastern and adjunct
faculty selected for their ability to teach experienced adults.
Classes are held at St. Joseph's Seminary College north of Covington.
The 16 students in the first EMBA class will receive their master's degrees in May 2000.
"The success of our first class has been overwhelming," O'Hara said.
To date, 11 student professionals have enrolled in the second class. For additional
information about the EMBA program, contact O'Hara at 504-549-2146 or bohara@selu.edu.
