SOUTHEASTERN EARLY REGISTRATION BEGINS NOV. 6
     HAMMOND -- Early registration for Southeastern Louisiana University's Spring 2001
semester is scheduled for Nov. 6-10. This week, e-mail notices and letters of registration
appointment times are being sent to students eligible to participate in the early class scheduling.
     Since this will be the first time many students have used the university's new PeopleSoft
on-line registration system, the university is encouraging students to explore its new features
before their registration appointment date. Students are also reminded to make appointments for
academic advising.
     Students can view class schedules and check registration appointments by clicking on the
"Leo" icon on the university's home page, www.selu.edu.
     While students can register early from any computer with Internet access, seven campus
labs staffed by registration assistants will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during early
registration, said Steve Soutullo, director of Academic Services. The labs are located in Carter
Harris residence hall (second floor), McClimans Hall (Room 105), the Music 
Annex (Room 170), North Campus Building B(Room 160), Mims Hall (first floor), and Student
Union (Room 114), and at Southeastern's St. Tammany Center near Mandeville.
     All currently enrolled students, students who have been enrolled within the past year, and
upperclass applicants who complete the application process before Nov. 10 are eligible to
participate in early registration.
     Important upcoming dates for students include Dec. 1, last day to apply  for Spring 2001
without $50 late fee; Jan. 5, fee payment deadline for early registrants; and Jan. 16, first day of
classes.
