2004 SOUTHEASTERN HOMECOMING COURT -- Seven Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2004 Homecoming court and will reign over Homecoming festivities, October 4-9. The 2004 Homecoming queen – the top vote-getter among court seniors and juniors -- will be announced at halftime of the 6 p.m. Oct. 9, Southeastern vs. Northern Colorado football game in Strawberry Stadium.

SOUTHEASTERN ANNOUNCES 2004 HOMECOMING COURTS
     HAMMOND -- Fourteen Southeastern Louisiana University students have been chosen as members of the 2004 Homecoming queen and beau courts. The seven women and seven men will reign over Homecoming festivities Oct. 4-9.
     Chosen as members of the queen's court were seniors Latosha Wilson of Baton Rouge and Andrea Zummo of Loranger; juniors Alika Jones of Gretna, Kristen Mannino of Baton Rouge, and Candice Sanders of Slidell; and sophomores Stephanie Cloy and Brittney Harris of Baton Rouge. 
     Members of the beau court are seniors Rajah Kennedy of Baton Rouge, Chris Kidwell of Mandeville, and Whitt Prottsman of Enterprise, Ala.; junior Arden Ballard of Harahan; sophomore Phaon Spurlock of Baton Rouge; and freshmen Thaddeus McLaurin of Baton Rouge and Dallas W. Young of Denham Springs.
     The 2004 Homecoming queen and beau, the top junior or senior vote-getters in the recent online campus election, will be announced at halftime of the Homecoming football game when the Lions take on Northern Colorado at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in Strawberry Stadium.
     The court will also participate in Homecoming festivities such as Gumbo Ya Ya on Wednesday, Oct. 6; the bonfire, pep rally and street dance on Thursday, Oct. 7, and the Alumni Awards Evening on Friday, Oct. 8. The Homecoming royalty will also ride in the 2 p.m. parade through downtown Hammond on Saturday, Oct. 9, Homecoming Day.
     Wilson, a communication major with a concentration in speech, is the sweetheart of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. The daughter of Carolyn Wilson and Albert Perry, she is a member of the French Club, Press Club, the NAACP, and the Black Student Union, and participates in the Project PULL mentor program.
     A general studies major with a concentration in kinesiology, Zummo is the daughter of Frank and Betty Zummo. She is the sweetheart of Phi Mu sorority, where she has served as president and ritual and standards chair and was named most out standing senior. She is a member of Gamma Beta Phi and the Order of Omega and is a former Lionette.
      Jones, sweetheart of the Pan-Hellenic Council, is the daughter of Patricia Ann Jones. She is majoring in communication and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and Project PULL, and is publicity director for the Campus Activities Board.
      Mannino, the daughter of Ron and Deborah Mannino, is a biological science major and is sweetheart of the junior class. She serves as membership director of Phi Mu and was named the sorority’s outstanding sophomore last year.
      Sanders, a marketing major, is the daughter of Gary and Wanda Sanders. She is sweetheart of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity and is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority where she currently serves as social chairman and a representative for the chapter relations committee. 
      Cloy, sweetheart of the sophomore class, is majoring in accounting. She is the daughter of Joseph and Lisa Cloy. A member of Phi Mu sorority and the Excel leadership class, she is also treasurer of the Emerald Girls and served as a Cub Camp guide. 
      Harris, the daughter of Redell and Teresa Harris, is sweetheart of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. She is majoring in kinesiology and health studies with a concentration in sports management. She is a member of the Jumpstart corps, Campus Activities Board and French Club.
      Kennedy, beau of Delta Omicron fraternity, is the son of Ronald and Eileen Kennedy. The music performance major is president of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is a member of the Spirit of the Southland marching band, the Southeastern Wind Symphony and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He received the 2003 Mr. Junior Pinnacle African American Academic Achievement Award.
      Kidwell, the son of Donald and Cathy Kidwell, is a psychology and pre-med major. Beau of the senior class, he is president of Psi Chi psychology honor society. He previously was a Southeastern orientation leader and member of Theta Chi fraternity, and serves as a Student Government Association justice.
      Prottsman, a communication major, is beau of the Dream Team. The son of Ron and Mary Prottsman, he is president of the Baptist Christian Ministry, an orientation leader, and member of Gamma Beta Phi and Phi Kappa Phi.
      Ballard, beau of the Lionettes, is an athletic training major. The son of Barbara Ballard, he is president of Theta Chi fraternity, a member of the Wesley Foundation, and a former Southeastern cheerleader and orientation leader. 
      Spurlock, the son of Personna Spurlock, is a pre-pharmacy major and beau of the NAACP. He is a Project PULL mentor, and is a member of the Jumpstart corps, Delta Omega Alpha, the Black Student Union, the Student Government Association and the Justice Board.
      McLaurin, beau of Cardinal Newman Hall, is a communication major. He is the son of Bernadette McLaurin and a member of the Baptist Christian Ministry.
      Young, the son of Wayne and Lydia Young, is the beau of the freshman class. A business major, he is a SGA senator, secretary of the Film Critics Association, and a member of the Maneiacs and the College Democrats.
