ENTERGY CHIEF TO SPEAK AT SOUTHEASTERN COMMENCEMENT
     HAMMOND -- E. Renae Conley, president and chief executive officer of Entergy
Louisiana and Entergy Gulf States-Louisiana, will be the keynote speaker at Southeastern
Louisiana University's December 15 commencement program.
     Southeastern will confer associate, bachelor's and master's degrees to approximately
1,100 students. The Golden Grads, Southeastern alumni who received their diplomas 50 years
ago or more, will lead the  graduates into the 10 a.m. ceremony at the University Center.
     As head of Entergy since mid-2000, Conerly  has executive responsibility for the
Louisiana utilities' electric distribution system, customer service, economic development,
regulatory affairs, and governmental affairs. Previously, she served as Entergy's vice president of
investor relations. In this position, she was responsible for communicating with key members of
the investment community to enhance their understanding of Entergy's business.
     Prior to joining Entergy, Conley was president of The Cincinnati Gas and Electric
Company, a subsidiary of Cinergy Corp., an electrical supplier for Ohio and Kentucky
consumers. She also served as president and CEO of Cadence, a joint venture of Cinergy, New
Century Energies, and Florida Progress. Before being selected to launch Cadence, Conley served
as vice president of sales at Cinergy.
     Active in community affairs, Conley serves on the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL)
Executive Committee and is co-chair of CABL's Forum for Excellence in Education. She also
serves on the YMCA Board of Directors, the Jefferson Business Council, Inroads Board of
Directors, the New Orleans Regional Chamber of Commerce's MetroVision, and the Baton
Rouge Boy Scouts Executive Committee. She has also served with other Louisiana business
leaders on the Committee of 100. 
     Conley holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a masters of business administration
from Ball State University.
