MODERN DANCE COMPANY PRESENTS WORKSHOPS AT SLU JAN. 22-23
     HAMMOND -- Jane Comfort and Company, a modern dance theatre company from New
York City, will conduct two free workshops at Southeastern Louisiana University Jan. 22 and 23.
     The workshops, sponsored by the Southeastern Arts and Lectures Committee, are open to
dancers, actors, singers and "anyone wanting to use their body and voice as an instrument for
expression," said Martie Fellom, director of Southeastern's dance program.
     The workshops are scheduled for 3-6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, and 11a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday,
Jan. 23, in the dance studio (room 153) in Southeastern's Kinesiology and Health Studies
Building.
     Jane Comfort and Company are known for incorporating verbal material, singers,
dancers, actors and a wide variety of movement styles to present today's social, political and
psychological issues. Company members will share their ideas and experience in using voice,
contact and improvisation.
