SOUTHEASTERN DANCE STUDENT RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION
HAMMOND "Chocolate," an original dance concert by Southeastern Louisiana
University dance student Michele Cudd, recently was selected by the American College Dance
Festival to be featured in at the festival's GALA concert.
Cudd's concert was selected from more than 50 works from around the country to be
performed at the GALA on the last night of the festival, which was held March 13-16 at the
University of Texas in Austin.
Cudd is the second Southeastern student to have her work selected for a GALA concert,
said Southeastern dance instructor and "Chocolate" director Martie Fellom. Skip Costa, current
artistic director of Southeast Dance Festival and faculty member at the Bridge Dance Space
Center and the Broadway Dance Center in New York City, was selected in 1992.
Southeastern dance students who participated with Cudd in "Chocolate" were Jessica Lee
of Kentwood, Jennifer "JB" Buck of Harvey, Tracy Nobles and Alison Maraman of Hammond,
and Heather Breland of Abita Springs.
