HAMMOND -- Tickets are now on sale for one of Southeastern Louisiana University's
most popular and long-running annual events, Chefs Evening.
Now in its 17th year, the gala food festival fund-raiser is scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m.,

Coats said that, to date, 25 of the area's best restaurants, caterers, and breweries have
joined the Chefs Evening 2002 "menu." New to the list is Popoulie's Restaurant, which opened
recently at 1602 North Morrison Blvd. in Hammond.
"We also have two dozen of our Chefs Evening 'favorites,' some of whom have been
generously donating their talents to this events for years," Coats said. "The great recipes that they
prepare for us are what makes Chefs Evening such a popular success."
Coats said another new addition to this year's program is a silent auction that will benefit
Southeastern athletics.
Restaurants and other establishments participating, in addition to Popoulie's, are Abita
Springs Water, Aramark Classic Fare Catering, Benedicts, Blythewood Plantation, Catfish
Charlie's, Champagne Beverages, Cuco's, Don's Seafood and Steak House, Garrison's Global
