SLU SPONSORS CAREER 2000 EMPLOYMENT FESTIVAL SEPT. 24
HAMMOND -- Area employers and businesses are invited to participate in Southeastern
Louisiana University's annual Career 2000 Employment Festival, scheduled for September 24 in
the SLU Student Union Ballroom.
The event, which is open to all Southeastern students and alumni, will be held from 8:30
a.m.-3:30 p.m.
As many as 100 employer, including many state, federal and local agencies, are expected
to participate in Career 2000 to provide students with information on careers and existing and
future employment possibilities. Interviews are not normally held during the festival, but seniors
and alumni are encouraged to dress appropriately and to have resumes available should an
employer request one for future contact. Several employers attending the Career 2000
Employment Festival have scheduled campus interview dates this fall.
To promote and prepare for the employment festival, Southeastern's Career Development
Services office plans to sponsor activities such as resume workshops and a fashion show.

Deadline for employer registration is September 19.
