| SLU CAREER FAIR 2002 SET TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17
HAMMOND -- Southeastern Louisiana University's Career Services Center will host its annual university-wide career fair, the Career 2002 Employment Festival, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, at the university’s Pennington Student Activity Center. All Southeastern students and alumni are invited to attend the event, which is expected to attract more than 100 companies, said Career Services Director Ken Ridgedell. To help students and alumni make positive impressions on the prospective employers attending Career 2002,, Ridgedell said Career Services will sponsor a professional etiquette seminar from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. September 12 in the Student Union, room 223. Career Services will also offer several resume workshops to assist attendees in ensuring their resumes are sharp and professionally developed. Resume workshops will be held September 3, 4, 11 and 12 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the War Memorial Student Union, room 229. Participating students and alumni should dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume to share with the representatives of the companies who have registered for Career 2002. Ridgedell said more than 70 organizations have committed to participate, and more 100 are expected to sign up by September 17. "What makes our annual career fair a success is not only the cooperation and participation of employers, but also the strong preparation, attendance and participation of our students and alumni,” Ridgedell said. “We appreciate the strong show of support at this important event, especially from alumni looking to help future alumni."
