VARIETY OF SUMMER CAMPS OFFERED AT SOUTHEASTERN 
     HAMMOND -- Registration is now underway for Southeastern Louisiana University's
summer day camp and specialty camps in music, art, cheerleading and dance.
     Young artists, ages 5-12 can participate in morning or afternoon sessions of the Art
Workshop, July 12-22, Monday-Thursday. Participants will work with the theme "Animals,
Animals, Animals." Students' work will be displayed in an open house at the end of the program.
Enrollment is limited.
     Southeastern's Summer Day Camp is open to children ages 5-10 and provides a variety
of sport skill acquisition, physical fitness and recreational games. There are two, three week
sessions, June 7-25 and July 6-23. The camp is held 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. 
     Budding musicians can participate in the Young Musicians Camp, July 5-16 with
sessions from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Pianists, wind instruments and bowed string instrument players will
participate in band, small ensembles, evening recitals, choral singing, music theory, private
lessons and recreation. 
     Dr. Yakov Voldman's String Academy is open to young string players in the morning
session and older players for a full day. 
     Southeastern hosts several cheerleading camps throughout the summer including the
National Cheerleaders Association, June 18-24; Universal Cheerleaders Association, June
8-11, July 16-19, and July 20-23, and the Worldwide Spirit Association, July 26-29.
     Drill and Dance Teams are also included in summer lineup. NCA Danz will hold camp
June 18-21 featuring instruction in a variety of dance styles, fundamentals in marching and
more.  The Universal Dance Association, June 28-July 1 and July 12-15, offers drill
techniques, parade routines and precision kick routines.
