CELLIST TO PERFORM AT SLU
     HAMMOND -- Thaddeus Brys, professor emeritus of cello and chamber music at
Louisiana State University, will present a guest concert at Southeastern Louisiana University
July
16.
     The free concert, sponsored by the SLU Music Department, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in
the Pottle Music Building Auditorium.
     Brys will perform "Sonata Nello Stile Antico Spagnuolo" by Gaspar Cassado, "Sonata in
A Major, Op. 26" by Ludwig van Beethoven, and "Sonata in A Major" by Cesar Franck.
     A native New Yorker, Brys received his training at the Mannes College of Music and the
Julliard School of Music and coached with famed cellist Pablo Casals in France.
     He has appeared in concert as a recitalist and chamber player throughout the United
States, Europe and South America. He has been a soloist with the Little Orchestra Society of
New York and with many symphony orchestras in the South. He has toured as a chamber player
for Columbia Concerts in the United States, Canada and Mexico, performed as a member of the
New York City Opera Orchestra and recorded with the Vivaldi Society under Max Goberman.
