ROBISON HEADS SLU HISTORY AND POLITICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
     HAMMOND -- Bill Robison has been named head of Southeastern Louisiana
University's Department of History and Political Science. the Interim Head of the History and
Political Science department.
     Robison, who has been a member of Southeastern's faculty since 1983, received his 
bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in history from Louisiana State University. He co-
authored a $100,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to get
Southeastern's Honors program under way.  He also served on the Louisiana State Historical
Records Advisory Commission from 1989-1993.
     At Southeastern, Robison has received the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching, 
the College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence, and held the Fay
Warren Reimer's Distinguished Teaching Professorship in the Humanities.
     He is the author of books such as "Historical Dictionary of Stuart England 1603-1689,"
"Historical Dictionary of Late Medieval England 1272-1485" and "A Broad Perspective:
Readings in Western Civilization from the Ancient World to the Present."
